Lovingly sourced, authentic Italian ingredients, from Bufala. This is a favourite of ours β the pizza base is super light, and the toppings are always delicious. The team are really lovely too β and don't even get us started on the view.

Captain Hank's Crab Shack (seasonal Easter to October)
You really must visit this little gem when you’re in Fowey. Tucked away in Berrills Yard, it serves up the finest local seafood, awesome coffees β and even doggy ice cream! Almost everything is locally sourced, and if you go onceβ¦ you're sure to get hooked.
Restaurant at Fowey Hall Hotel β ££££
From leisurely breakfasts and light lunches to afternoon teas, early dinners and fine dining, this elegant restaurant puts Cornish cuisine at the heart of its hospitality. The food is fabulous and the setting β both inside and out β is stunning, with beautiful views over the estuary.

A relaxed, all-day dining spot with panoramic harbour views from both the dining room and terrace. The menu is light, seasonal and locally sourced, and the drinks list includes eclectic wines, house cocktails, local craft beers and Cornish gins. The views? Absolutely breathtaking.

The Ship Inn
Built by adventurer John Rashleigh in 1570, The Ship Inn is Fowey’s oldest pub. For more than four centuries, it’s been a gathering place for locals, travellers and fishermen alike. The open fire, character-filled building and hearty pub food make it a cosy choice year-round.
The Old Quay House β Relaxed Waterfront Restaurant
This peaceful spot offers some of the finest dining in Fowey, with a focus on seafood, Cornish produce, and local cheeses and meats. The views across the estuary are stunning, and the contemporary menu is always beautifully presented. Service is professional and warm β a lovely place for a special occasion.

Organicafe (just opposite Old Station Master’s House)
This fairly new deli and coffee shop has quickly become a local favourite. Gorgeous coffee, beautiful cakes and seriously good sandwiches have made it a big hit already. Ideal for a quick bite or takeaway lunch.

Pintxo is a must-visit tapas and sherry bar tucked away on Fowey’s famous Esplanade β the waterfront path leading to Readymoney Cove. The food and drinks are delicious and the service is super friendly. It’s always top of our list β but be aware it gets busy at peak times and they don’t take bookings, so be prepared to wait (we promise, it’s worth it!).

WALKING AROUND THE FOWEY ESTUARY

St Catherine’s Castle to Polridmouth and Gribbin Head The countryside to the west of Fowey offers a variety of landscapes, including superb views and many features of historical significance. This coastal walk takes you to beaches, coves, woodlands and grassland rich in wild flowers. Famed for its association with the author Daphne du Maurier, and the setting of many of her books, this area offers breathtaking natural beauty.
Fowey 'Hall Walk'Savour the still green waters of Pont Pill on a walk of exceptional beauty through woodland and creek, with striking views of Fowey Harbour. A spectacular coastal walk with exceptional views. This is a favourite circular walk for many, which includes two ferry rides: from Fowey to Polruan and Fowey to Bodinnick.
Covington Walk This walk is on the edge of the bustling, ancient, harbour town of Fowey. Stunning views, woodland, beaches and open fields make for a perfect stroll, and perhaps a picnic too. The walk also takes in some interesting historical sites, such as St Catherine’s Castle and one of Daphne du Maurier’s houses.

Gribbin Head
On the South West Coast Path you can visit the Daymark sitting on top of the Gribbin Head, the headland to the west of Fowey. Fowey to Mevagissey Ferry (seasonal β runs Easter to September)
Just a 35 minute ferry ride away from Fowey, explore a bit more Cornish culture in Mevagissey, a delightful small fishing harbour with a variety of independent shops and galleries.
